SMILES
The SMILES Across Southeast Connecticut Program was launched in July 2003. The Smiles Program focused on education and access to oral health care in schools in New London County.
In 2004-05 1,200 children received preventive care, cleaning, exams and fluoride treatments in 50 different New London County schools and 4 Head Start sites. Treatment needed beyond these services is provided at federally qualified health center dental offices.
Although funding for the SMILES Across Southeast Connecticut Program ended June 30, 2008, the work being done by the collaborative partners to address oral health continues. Please contact our treatment partners for more information about oral health care:
