CHAMP
The Community Health Access Management Program (CHAMP) is focused on making the connection for the uninsured and underinsured residents of New London County to affordable healthcare, prescription medications and community resources.
CHAMP is guided by the ‘No Wrong Door’ principle - every point of entry into the healthcare system is an opportunity for outreach, education, and connection to needed services.
CHAMP was funded in 2004 by a grant from the Healthy Community Access Program (HCAP). HCAP grants help communities link services delivered by local safety-net health care providers into coordinated networks serving uninsured and underinsured residents. Several New London County organizations work together to deliver services under CHAMP.
