State DSS Rx-Xpress Bus to visit Groton - posted 06.21.07

Groton Human Services will be hosting the State Department of Social Services Rx-Xpress Bus on Tuesday, June 26 from 9:30am-12:30pm. The bus will be in the parking lot at the Groton Human Services Building, 2 Fort Hill Road, and will offer eligibility screenings for a variety of state assistance programs including Food Stamps, HUSKY medical insurance, Medicare Rx, Medicaid and ConnPACE prescription assistance. Clients will be seen on a first come, first served basis.

 

 

Kick the Tick Poster Contest Winners Announced - posted 05.18.07

As part of the Lyme Disease Awareness Month celebration, we invited middle schools in our service area to participate in a 'Kick the Tick' Poster Contest. There were over 200 entries in this very close competition! The winning poster will be featured on the front page of a special Lyme Disease Awareness insert from The Day.

Facts, Figures and Focus - New London County Community Health Status Assessment - posted 02.28.07

Last fall the partners in CHAMP (Community Health Access Management Program) contracted with the Center for Health Planning Policy and Research at the University of New England in Maine to conduct a comprehensive health assessment of the residents of New London County. The CT QuitLine offers free information and cessation support from professionally trained Quit Coaches and is open seven days a week from 8 AM to Midnight.
