Ledge Light Health District Taking Back Unwanted Prescription Drugs
On April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Ledge Light Health District, in partnership with TRIAD, Groton Senior Center, Groton Town Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will offer a prescription drug take-back event. Ledge Light Health District Names Sam Crowley Public Service Award Recipient
As in previous years, Ledge Light Health District has recognized an outstanding individual of the community who has shown support and dedication to public health with the Francis “Sam” Crowley Public Service Award, named after the district’s director of health from 1997-2007. >>READ MORE
Ledge Light Health District is the host of a cable television program on Comcast - Groton Cable Channel 2, a service of the Groton Public Library and Information Center. This monthly program focuses on current health issues of concern to the community.
The program is hosted by Cindy Barry. Guests are experts in their field representing a variety of local and state departments and organizations.
Ledge Light Health Watch can be seen on Cable Access Channel 2 at 6 p.m. Monday, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Additional copies for loan are available at Ledge Light Health District or the Groton Public Library.
Health Watch is also available via streaming video through the Groton Municipal Television website! Now you can watch episodes from the comfort of your home or office - at a time that is convenient for you!
Past topics include: Breast Health, Stroke Awareness, Mosquito Control and Tick Borne Disease, The Tools for Schools Program, Communicable Disease, Cardiovascular Disease and Asthma.
