World Asthma
Day!
The theme for World Asthma Day 2008 is “You
Can Control Your Asthma”. Asthma control is the goal of
treatment and can be achieved in the majority of asthma patients
with proper management.
A person’s
asthma is under control when he or she has:
-
No (or
minimal) asthma symptoms
-
No waking
at night due to asthma
-
No (or
minimal) need to use ‘reliever” or” rescue” medication
-
The
ability to do normal physical activity and exercise
-
Normal (or
near normal) lung function test results (PEF and FEV1)
-
No (or
very infrequent) asthma episodes
If your asthma is not presently under good
control, see your healthcare provider. Together, You Can
Control Your Asthma. For more information about

Ledge Light Health District, in conjunction with the New London County
Asthma Action Partnership (NLCAAP) and Shop-Rite of New London, is
sponsoring a visit from the American Lung Association Breath
Express, a mobile lung health education site, suitable for
adults and children middle school age or older. The Breath
Express will be at Shop Rite at North Frontage Rd in New London on
May 5th. |
