2009 H1N1 Flu Information for DAYCARES
The kids in your center may not be reading the daily news in the paper about H1N1 but their parents sure are and they have probably overheard discussions about people getting sick. It is important to let them know that there are simple things that everyone can do to prevent the spread of the flu and the you and the other adults in their lives are working to keep as many people from getting sick as possible.
Hand washing is key - so make it part of their regular routine and turn it into a game with songs and silly sayings. Make sure your staff knows to stay home when they are sick and to enforce your sick policies when a child has a fever, diarrhea and/or vomiting. Most importantly, direct parents and staff to the CDC or this website if they have any questions or concerns about getting vaccinated!
Download these materials to hand out to parents or post at your center to help spread the prevention message!
