West Nile Precautions

The Connecticut Department of Public Health today announced that a
resident of New London tested positive for West Nile Virus. The resident
is between 30 and 39 years of age and became ill during the third week
of July. This person was hospitalized with symptoms of headache, stiff
neck, joint and muscle pain and weakness and is now recovering at home.
Public Health officials across the state are working to prevent further occurrences of West Nile infections in humans. Ledge Light Health District is offering free larvacide treatments for residents in our jurisdiction who have standing water on their property.
