State Reports First Flu Cases of the Season - posted

With the confirmation of cases of
influenza by the State Public Health Laboratory,
the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) today advised that the
influenza season has
officially begun in Connecticut. DPH Commissioner J. Robert Galvin,
M.D., M.P.H. urged Connecticut residents to talk to their doctor about

Update to Advisory Regarding Spinach Related E. Coli Outbreak - posted 09.29.06
To date, 175 cases of illness due to E. coli infection have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including 28 cases of Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS), 93 hospitalizations and one death. FDA is working closely with CDC and the state of California. FDA has determined that the spinach implicated in the outbreak was grown in three counties: Monterey, San Benito and Santa Clara in California. [Read More>>]
